 ontract packaging, better known as "co-packing", is when a person or company (the client) desires to have their own recipe made by a food manufacturer. It can be their own recipe or a flavor profile concept they have that the manufacturer can use to develop a commercial recipe. Traditionally co-packing is more expensive than private label due to the recipe development costs and requires larger minimums.
